Chapter Ten2016 – 2025

Gospel Light

The church he built, and the years he gave it

Gospel Light Fellowship Centre was founded in 2016. He built it, named it, and led it. The church met on the ground floor of the building on the compound; the family lived upstairs. It was not a coincidence that the arrangement worked out that way. His life had never separated the two things.

He was the kind of pastor who showed up for people. He counselled. He discipled. He prayed with members by name. The congregation that gathered under him was small enough that he knew everyone in it, and large enough that the work was real. He did it for nine years.

From January 2025 he was carrying a serious illness: Stage IV prostate cancer, chronic kidney disease, and diabetes. He was still pastoring. He died on August 5th, 2025.

He was seventy-three years old. He had been a Christian for forty-eight of those years. He had spent the last nine of them as a pastor. The faith that had claimed him in April 1977 was still the organizing fact of his life on August 5th, 2025.
