A Family of His Own

He married Mrs. Rebecca Bosede Omotayo in 1985. She was born in 1961, and she became the partner alongside whom he would build a home, raise five children, and eventually plant a church.

Deborah Oluwatobi was born in 1986, the first of the children. Stephen Olufemi followed in 1987, then Jeremiah Olalekan in 1990. Paul Taiwo Oluwadamilola and Daniel Kehinde Oluwadamilare were born in 2000, twin sons whose arrival brought a particular kind of joy to the household. Hannah Idowu Funke came in 2003, the fifth and youngest.

He was a structured father. He had decided early on, from his own childhood experience, that whatever pressures bore down on the family, they would not land on the children. The home he built was ordered, not chaotic. Faith was practiced in it, not just professed. His children grew up watching a man who prayed before the day started and treated his commitments as things that meant something.

Through those same years TAJE continued. He was still distributing Christian literature, still writing letters to publishers, still building the supply chains for materials he believed in. The business and the home and the faith were not separate categories. They were the same life, lived consistently.
